action
Jacky and Martijn, both from the Dutch province, move to Amsterdam together . Jacky takes a job in a coffee shop where she meets the drug dealer JP. He persuades Jacky to earn a little on the side by selling ecstasy pills. Jacky slips more and more into the drug scene of the big city. The couple fell apart more and more, so Martijn left Jacky. Eventually the situation escalated during a rave party at which the couple met again.
criticism
The lexicon of international films judged: “With digital effects and alienation, the film captures the atmosphere of the scene, whereby it achieves a strong immediacy. For long stretches it convincingly depicts the problems of young people in this hectic environment, but in the end it loses itself in a superimposed ironic stance. ”The film magazine Cinema found the film exhausting:“ The images swing from the floor to the ceiling and dance to House music, so you almost vomit. Bright colors pop off the canvas, sometimes all contours dissolve and the objects blur into one another. "
Soundtrack
In addition to the film, a soundtrack double CD was released in 1996, which includes tracks by artists such as Alec Empire .
