The Wattbach is the right tributary of the Sitter mainly along the canton border of St. Gallen and Appenzell Ausserrhoden in Switzerland .
location
The stream rises in the city of St. Gallen near the Stueleggwald on the Eggenhang at approx. 925 m above sea level. M. above St. Georgen and flows in the Brandtobel to Liebegg im Riethüsli , where the brook runs under the Teufenerstrasse and the tracks of the Appenzeller Bahnen through the Wattwald and flows into the Sitter from the right at Zweibruggen in the Bruggen district . The stream is about 5 km long. With the exception of the first few hundred meters, the stream forms the aforementioned canton border.
Naming
The name Wattbach comes from Jonenwatt, the place at Liebegg where the creek used to be waded on the way from St. Gallen to Teufen .
