We Ride is a five-piece hardcore punk band from Vigo , Spain , formed in 2009 .
history
The band, founded in 2009 in Vigo , Spain , consists of the singer Mimi Telmo, the two guitarists Borja Trigo and Nuno Alves, the bassist Victor Rodríguez and the drummer Brais Lomba. A demo appeared on its own in the year it was founded.
In 2010, the production and release of the debut long player Directions , which took place on the labels Chorus of One Records , Fragment Records and Learn to Trust Records . The second album, On the Edge , was released through Farewell Records in Europe , Seven Eight Life Recordings in Brazil and Samstrong Records in Indonesia .
From September 1st to 22nd, 2012 the group toured Europe on the On the Edge Tour . The musicians made stops in Spain , France , the Czech Republic , Austria and Italy .
On September 5, 2013, the group started their first extensive concert tour across Latin America . Performances took place in Argentina (3 performances), Uruguay , Ecuador , Chile (4 concerts), Peru , Panama , Mexico (10 performances), Brazil (10 performances), Colombia , Nicaragua , El Salvador , Costa Rica , Honduras and the United States (2 concerts). The tour ended on November 3, 2013 with a concert in Pomona . A European tour is planned for November 21, 2013.
style
We Ride play a classic version of hardcore punk on Directions . In contrast to most representatives of the genre, a woman takes on the post of front singer in the group with Mimi. The guitars alternate between fast and mid tempo riffs. Most of the songs are written in English . The exception is the piece Epilogue from the debut album Directions , which was also recorded in French and Spanish and is trilingual. There is also a hip-hop passage in the piece . Elements of the 2step are also present in some pieces. The music can be compared with Terror , Madball , All for Nothing , Sick of It All and Death Before Dishonor .
