It rises near Rosendorf and flows further in the area of the side valleys through the places Karlsdorf and Weißbach and flows into the Roda at Lippersdorf . Some of the valley villages are located in its catchment area .
Origin of name
The name is derived from the Old High German hwiz or the Middle High German wiz (white). As with all color names, this does not have to mean the color of the water. The color of the surrounding landscape or the bottom of the stream is more likely. No reliable statement can be made in this regard.
