Occurrence

White-fronted warblers are endemic to the Andes in western Venezuela . They occur in the Cordillera de Mérida mountain range in Trujillo , Mérida and mostly in the extreme south of Táchira . Preferred habitats are in mountain forests, on the edges of forests and partly in cloud forests at altitudes of 2200 to 3200 meters. Occasionally they can also be found up to an altitude of 4000 meters. Like all wood warbler species, they mainly feed on insects which, like the flycatchers , they catch from a perch in the higher vegetation or usually dig up in the treetops. There are no records of the breeding, incubation or nestling times. Young birds that had just fledged were spotted in June.
