history

The name "Weidig" of the parcel on the Göltzsch north of Netzschkau means "willow trees". The settlement of the same name was built in the years 1850/51 with the construction of a brick factory with a residential building and the factory hall of the textile company "Winkelmann & Glaß" near the Göltzschtal bridge . After 1856, other textile and metal companies followed. The construction of the Göltzschtalstraße (1911 to 1913) was of great importance for the development of the surrounding industry and tourism.

In 1952 the central training center of the Reichenbach district was established on the former site of the Berglas company, and in 1954 the BBS Nema. After the BBS Nema was closed in 1990, the restaurant "Zur alten BBS" existed in the former apprentice residence until 2008. The TSV Mylau created the most modern bowling facility in Vogtland with 6 lanes in the area from 2000. In 1997 AZV Reichenbacher Land built the central sewage treatment plant on the site of the first textile company in Netzschkau.
