The Weidigschule is a high school in Butzbach in the Hessian Wetteraukreis .
history
The school goes to the Latin School of the ball men back from the year 1470th Today's school was created with the establishment of a higher middle school in 1876. It developed further into a secondary school , later to an upper secondary school and ultimately became a grammar school. Today's school building on the Butzbacher Schrenzerhang has existed since 1972 and is currently being completely renovated.
The school is named after Friedrich Ludwig Weidig , a resistance fighter from Vormärz who lived and worked in Butzbach.
The Weidigschule has been a profile school with a focus on music since 2010. This focus is underlined by annual performances of musicals , some of which are self-composed . The school is also a member of the Association of Mathematical and Scientific Excellence Centers in Schools .
The school has an afternoon care program for middle and lower school students, which is supported by the youth counseling and youth welfare association from Frankfurt am Main.

- Ferdinand Werner (1876–1961), teacher at the Weidig School from 1910 to 1933, first National Socialist President, later Minister President of the People's State of Hesse .
