The Gmina wiejska Wejherowo is an independent rural municipality in Poland and is located in the powiat Wejherowski of the Pomeranian Voivodeship . The municipality has an area of ​​194.08 km² on which 26,129 inhabitants (June 30, 2019) live. The seat of the municipality and the district is located in the eponymous city Wejherowo ( German Neustadt in West Prussia ), which does not belong to the rural municipality.

Memorial and mass graves

A twelve-meter-high monument on the northern outskirts near Wielka Piaśnica on the main road between Wejherowo and Krokowa commemorates the Piaśnica massacre from September 1939.
