The Wel ( Russian Вель , also Велью , Welju ) is a left tributary of the Pechora in the Komi Republic in northwestern Russia .
The Wel rises in the Ayjuwinskoi Heights. It flows in a predominantly south-southeast direction to the Pechora, into which it flows about 70 km north of Troizko-Pechorsk . The road between the cities of Ukhta and Wuktyl crosses the river . The Wel has a length of 173 km. The catchment area covers 4110 km². Its mean discharge 7.2 km above the mouth is 30 m³ / s. At river kilometer 6 its largest tributary, the Nibel , flows into the Wel from the right.
