The Wellenthal desert is a deserted area in the municipality of Dieterskirchen in the Schwandorf district .

Geographical location

Wellenthal is about four kilometers northeast of Dieterskirchen and about 1.5 kilometers west of federal highway 22 in the Aschatal .

The former wasteland of Wellenthal is now (2014) marked as broken on the map. The terrain is like a desert.

history

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Wellenthal (Wellenthal I and Wellenthal II) was listed as part of the Dieterskirchen parish with three houses and 27 residents. Wellenthal was recorded in 1964 as part of the Dieterskirchen community. On December 31, 1990, Wellenthal was uninhabited and belonged to the Dieterskirchen parish.
