World Men's Day

The Men's World Day is a day of action for men's health , the year on since 2000 on November 3 takes place. According to a statement by Mikhail Gorbachev as patron, this was intended to increase men's awareness of health issues. The average life expectancy of men is seven years below that of women. In addition to men's health, compulsory military service and future prospects for boys were also key topics in Germany .

The first World Men's Day was launched in 2000 by an andrologist from the University of Vienna . Together with the City of Vienna , the Gorbachev Foundation , Medical Connection and the United Nations Office at Vienna ( UNOV ), it was officially held in Vienna for the first time in 2000. Today, timely preventive healthcare and a realistic assessment of one's own health and risks are in the foreground. It should not be confused with the International Men's Day , which takes place on November 19th of each year.
