Welyka Biloserka ( Ukrainian Велика Білозерка ; Russian Великая Белозёрка Velikaja Belosjorka ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast of Zaporizhia with about 3,500 inhabitants (2004) and the administrative center of the raion of the same name .

Velyka Biloserka is located in the west of Zaporizhia Oblast 120 km southwest of the center of Zaporizhia Oblast , 30 km south of Enerhodar and 38 km southeast of Kamjanka-Dniprovska on the bank of the Biloserka River (Ukrainian Білозерка ), a 84.8 km long left tributary of the Dnieper .
Due to its position as a district center, the village is the only one in Ukraine that is divided into four district councils. These have a total of 8,339 inhabitants (2001) and are in detail:

history
After the region fell to Russia in 1783 , settlements were established here. During this time, Welyka Biloserka was founded by resettled farmers from the Poltava and Chernihiv provinces who built 30 huts along the Biloserka River. The settlement was named after this river. On September 19, 1941, the village was occupied by the Wehrmacht and liberated by the Red Army on October 29, 1943 . The population consisted of 3,647 inhabitants in 2001 and decreased to 3,362 inhabitants by 2013.
