The Velyka Biloserka Raion (Ukrainian Великобілозерський район ; Russian Великобілозерський район / Velikobloserski rajon ) is an administrative unit in Ukraine within the Zaporizhia Oblast . Welyka Biloserka Rajon was founded in 1923, has since been abolished and re-established in 1993. It has an area of 470 km², a length from east to west of 17 km and a population of 8,323 inhabitants (2010). With its population density of only 18 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most sparsely populated regions in all of Ukraine.
The administrative seat is the village Velyka Biloserka , which is located in the west of the Zaporizhia Oblast 120 km southwest of the center of the Zaporizhia Oblast , 30 km south of Enerhodar and 38 km southeast of Kamyanka-Dniprovska on the bank of the Biloserka River (Ukrainian Білозерка ).

The Rajon bordered to the west by the Rajon Verkhny Rohatschyk the Kherson Oblast , on the north by Rajon Kamianka-Dniprovska , to the east by Rajon Vasylivka and to the south by Rajon Wessele . The Biloserka, a 84.8 km long left tributary of the Dnieper, flows through the Rajon .
Administrative structure
At the municipal level, the Rajon is divided into five villages with eight district councils. The village of Welyka Biloserka is the only one in Ukraine that is divided into four municipal councils. Accordingly, this Rajon is structured differently from all others in Ukraine. On the one hand in the village of Welyka Biloserka with the following municipal councils:
- District municipality Welyka Biloserka (Ukrainian Великобілозерська сільська рада )
- District municipality Tscherwona (Ukrainian Червона сільська рада )
- Landratsgemeinde Trudowa (Ukrainian Трудова сільська рада )
- District Municipality Novopetriwska (Ukrainian Новопетрівська сільська рада )
and in four other villages, each of which has its own district council.
