Welykyj Karaschyn ( Ukrainian Великий Карашин ; Russian Великий Карашин Veliky Karashin ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with about 860 inhabitants (2001).

The village, founded in 1805, is located on the right bank of the Sdvysh ( Здвиж ), a 145 km long right tributary of the Teteriv in the west of Makariw Rajon on the border with Zhytomyr Oblast . Velykyj Karaschyn is the administrative center of the district council of the same name to which the village of Malyj Karaschyn ( Малий Карашин ) also belongs. Velykyj Karaschyn is located 18 km southwest of the Makariv district center and 68 km west of the center of Kiev .
