Who loves lives dangerously (original title: El amor perjudica seriamente la salud ) is a Spanish - French comedy film from 1996. Directed by Manuel Gómez Pereira , who also co-produced the film and together with Yolanda García Serrano , Juan Luis Iborra and Joaquín Oristrell wrote the script.

Diana had a crush on the Beatles in 1965 . While visiting the group in Madrid, she sneaks into John Lennon's room . Santi, the bellhop, tries to throw her out. When Lennon approaches with a young woman, they both hide under the bed and come closer there.
In the course of the next three decades Diana and Santi meet again and again, each time their passion for one another flares up. Diana first marries a doctor, then a wealthy banker , and finally an Italian opera tenor, and belongs to the jet set . After completing his military service, Santi does pilot training. He marries, the family has two sons and lives in a middle-class family . Diana invites him over and over to her villa, which Santi's wife has no idea of. Sometimes he sneaks into the house as a clown at a children's party, sometimes he is brought in a trunk. Once the couple is almost inflagranti surprised by Diana's jealous husband, in the costume of Verdi's Otello and music from the opera of the same name, he makes her a jealous scene . Santi can hide in the bathroom at the last moment, he goes into the bubble bath in his pilot's uniform.
Santi receives the unexpected assignment to fly King Juan Carlos . He is so taken with his pilot that he makes him his personal bodyguard . Diana is also invited to a reception in Paris for Juan Carlos, who appears several times as a marginal figure in the plot . When she shakes hands with the king, she imitates a fainting attack in order to be alone with Santi. Then she takes part in the banquet , while Santi exchanges looks happily with her.

Film-Dienst wrote that the film was a “turbulent love comedy” with many songs and “impossible love nests” that conjured up absurd situations .
The magazine prisma certified the film a "wealth of funny ideas" . The director knows "brilliantly how to describe bizarre situations" .
Awards
Manuel Gómez Pereira received the 1997 Audience Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival . Ana Belén received an award at the 1997 Peñíscola Comedy Film Festival .
