Werbowez ( Ukrainian Вербовець ; Russian Вербовец , Polish Wierzbowiec ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast Ivano-Frankivsk with about 3400 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing around 1650, is the administrative center of the 29.392 km² district council in the east of Kosiv Rajon , which also includes the neighboring village of Staryj Kosiv ( Старий Косів , ⊙ ) with around 1700 inhabitants.
Werbowez is located in the east of the historical Galicia on the banks of the Rybnytsya ( Рибниця ), a 56 km long tributary of the Pruth 7 km northeast of the Kosiv district center and 95 km south of the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast center . Territorial road T – 09–09 runs south of the village .
