Werbsiepen is a locality in the mountainous city ​​of Wuppertal in North Rhine-Westphalia / Germany .

Location and description

The village is located in the Erbschlö-Linde residential area on both sides of today's state road 58 (formerly federal road 51 ), which continues northwards to Oberbarmen / Rauental . The state road was expanded in the 1950s and the previously tight curves in Werbsiepen were defused. The old route is still partly used as a road within the village.

The place is at an altitude of 260 to 290  m above sea level. NHN and has 42 inhabitants (as of 2007). The settlement lies north of the village Linde and Blombachtalbrücke that the location in the West Blombachtal spanned by both the Federal Highway 1 as well as the Wuppertal-Oberbarmen-Solingen railway run. Neighboring places are Jägerhaus , Linde , Marscheid , Blombach , Erbschlö and the putschhaus that has been abandoned .

history

In 1832 Werbsiepen belonged to the Marscheider Rotte of the rural outskirts of the city of Ronsdorf . The place, categorized as an inn according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , was called Werfsiepen at that time and at that time owned a residential building and an agricultural building. At that time 5 people lived in the place, all of them Protestant faith. In the municipality encyclopedia for the province of Rhineland from 1888 four houses with 86 inhabitants are given.

Werbsiepen was on the newly built Chaussee at the beginning of the 19th century , which led from Rittershausen over the Heckinghauser Zollbrücke and Lüttringhausen to Lennep , today's Landesstraße 58 (formerly Bundesstraße 51 ).
