history
The Wettins conquered the Barnim at the beginning of the 13th century and gradually pushed the Slavs back. To consolidate their rule, they built villages and towns. Around 1230, the Margrave Heinrich III. the Zinna Monastery in Jüterbog, the taxable village of Werder. The Cistercians then built the village church out of field stones in the 13th century . The Angerdorf was first mentioned in 1309 in a Strausberg document. A Johannes dictus Werder appears there . A mill was first handed down from 1375. It is no longer preserved in the 21st century. With the Reformation , the village fell to the Brandenburg elector and from around 1553 belonged to the royal domain office in Rüdersdorf. The place was devastated in the Thirty Years War . In 1738 the first school opened in the village. In the beginning there were only 29 children, but in 1874 the number rose to 50. With Rehfeld's connection to the Ostbahn Berlin - Küstrin , the population also increased in the neighboring villages. In the second half of the 19th century, a large number of four-sided courtyards with living rooms, stables and barns were built. The residents gave up the cemetery around the church at the end of the 19th century and opened a new burial site in the south of the village. In 1928 the volunteer fire brigade built a syringe house that also served as a prison. After the end of the Second World War , more and more refugees and resettlers came to Werder. After the founding of the GDR, they were allocated land as part of the land reform. The Volksgut Sophienfelde was created. In October 1952, nine members founded an LPG , which one year later became the sponsor of the Institute for Teacher Training in Waldsieversdorf .
Since 2001 there has been a day-care center in town again. In 2003 Werder became part of Rehfelde as part of the municipal reform.
