Werner Böttcher (born September 4, 1909 in Berlin - Friedenau ; † November 10, 1944 in Różan ) was a German middle-distance and cross-country runner .

biography

At the German Championships in 1935 Werner Böttcher won silver in cross-country skiing and in the team competition he was German champion together with Walter Schönrock and Karl Kelm . He was also successful in 1936 : With the 4 x 1500 meter relay, he won gold and over 1500 meters silver. As the German runner-up, he competed in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin over 1500 meters and finished twelfth.

Werner Böttcher died in November 1944 on the Eastern Front in Różan , which is now part of Poland .
