Werner Bastians
Werner Bastians ( Werner Alfons Bastians ; born February 2, 1957 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer ) is a former German sprinter .
At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal and at the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1982 , he was eliminated over 100 meters each in the run-up.
In 1983 he came in fifth place with the German team in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki .
In 1978 he became German runner-up over 100 meters. In 1978 and 1980 he became German champions over 60 meters and 1979 over 200 meters .
Werner Bastians started for TV Wattenscheid 01 . He practices as an orthopedist in Bochum and was, among other things, team doctor for Borussia Dortmund . His son Felix Bastians is a professional soccer player.
