Werner Biedermann (politician)

Werner Biedermann (born April 15, 1925 ) is a former German politician ( CDU ). He was chairman of the CDU district association Magdeburg .

Life

The son of a doctor attended elementary school. After the war he joined the CDU in 1945 and worked as a new teacher from 1945 to 1947. From 1948 to 1952 he was a volunteer, then head of administration.

From 1952 he worked in responsible functions in the GDR state apparatus. He was first mayor from 1952 to 1954, from 1954 to 1957 deputy chairman of the council of the Frankfurt (Oder) district and from 1957 to 1961 deputy chairman of the council of the Strausberg district.

In 1961 he went to Magdeburg and was City Councilor for Trade and Supply and Deputy Chairman of the City Council of Magdeburg until 1971. At the same time he was deputy chairman of the CDU city association Magdeburg until 1971. Biedermann qualified as a political scientist. From June 1971 to November 1980 he acted as chairman of the CDU district association in Magdeburg. From October 1972 to October 1982 he was also a member of the main CDU board. From 1971 to 1981 he was a member of the Magdeburg District Assembly and chairman of the Standing Commission Complex Supply of the District Assembly. At times he also worked as deputy chairman of the Magdeburg district board of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship . Since his replacement as CDU district head for health reasons, he has not appeared politically.
