Werner Boysen

Werner Boysen (born January 19, 1961 in Hildesheim ) is a German management consultant and author .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1980 at the Josephinum grammar school in Hildesheim, Boysen completed a basic metalworking internship at Bosch and then served as a temporary soldier in the drive section (42) and as a swim diver in the German Navy . Boysen then studied mechanical engineering at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Wolfenbüttel and graduated in 1988 with a thesis on torsional vibrations in internal combustion engines as a graduate engineer (B. Eng.).

In 1988 he started as a designer at IVM Verfahrenstechnik for mechanical engineering for the Volkswagen Group, for which he developed the front axle kinematics of the first series of Seat Toledo for Seat at the Centro Technico de Martorell . In 1990 Boysen switched to vehicle testing at Seat, where he was head of the overall vehicle testing section until 1992. He then headed an industrial company of the United Aluminum Works in the packaging industry in Burgos together with Herbert Dötsch . At the same time, Boysen completed an executive MBA degree from the Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) Zurich (now CEIBS Zurich).

From 1994, Boysen took over the technical management of ELOPAK Trading AG in Glattbrug , Switzerland for two years , for which he was responsible for technical sales support, especially customer-side factory layouts, and technical service for Switzerland, Austria and all countries around the Mediterranean was responsible. From 1996 to 2000 he was managing director of the Reuther Packaging Group in Neuwied , where he internationalized the sales of Deutsche Kard-o-Pak GmbH and expanded the company's product range to include plastic packaging in addition to paper packaging.

At the same time, Boysen completed a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering & Electronics at Brunel University , West London , from which he graduated in 1998 with the distinction “with distinction”. Boysen then took up an extra-occupational doctoral degree at the Institute for Business Administration, in particular business informatics and information management, at the WHU University of Applied Sciences in Vallendar , which he obtained in 2001 with a thesis on organizational business processes in virtual marketplaces at Thomas Fischer with the grade " magna cum laude " completed.

In 2001 Boysen was Senior Project Manager in the Deutsche Bank Consulting Group in Frankfurt and then founded his own management consultancy, today's Dr. Boysen Management + Consulting GmbH, which is supposed to help its clients to manage operational earnings improvements and turnaround projects. Boysen brings his expertise in interim management and consulting mandates and publishes, among other things, on the principles of cybernetics in relation to management and also offers workshops and trainings. He combines classic management methods with system-oriented approaches. The resulting management style of "enzymatic management", which was shaped by Boysen, has proven itself in practice.

Boysen has been married to university lecturer Asun Carnicé Espinach since 1992 and has two daughters.

Memberships

Boysen is a member of the umbrella company German Interim Management DDIM and a member of the DDIM specialist group for project and program management. He is also a member of the German Chapter of the System Dynamics Society and of the Society for Economic and Social Cybernetics . He has been an elected member of the General Assembly of the Koblenz Chamber of Commerce since 2011 , where he is also a member of the industry committee and honorary auditor. Boysen is also President of the Rhine Museum in Koblenz.

Boysen has been a Rotarian since 2009 and will be President of the RC Koblenz-Ehrenbreitstein in the 2019/20 Rotary year.
