Werner Eidherr (born September 18, 1941 in Vienna ) is an Austrian bank manager . From 2001 to 2012 he was President of the Austrian Cooperative Association (ÖGV).

Life and career

Werner Eidherr studied business administration at the University of World Trade in Vienna, worked in the building materials trade and in a tax consultancy firm and switched to ÖVAG in 1975 , where he headed the board secretariat and took on special tasks at various Volksbanks .

Eidherr is married to Claudia and has three children.

Functions

From 1979 to 2008 he was a member of the board and managing director of Volksbank Kufstein. From 2001 to 2012 he was President of the Austrian Cooperative Association and thus representative of the interests of the Austrian Volksbanks with more than 5000 employees and total assets of almost € 30 billion. The association also includes around 100 goods, service and productive cooperatives , including ADEG , APA , Intersport , Sport 2000 and Red Zac .

He held numerous supervisory board and advisory board functions in companies of the Schulze-Delitzsch group, including vice-chairman of the advisory board of ÖVAG, chairman of the supervisory board of the Allgemeine Bausparkasse , chairman of the advisory board of the Volksbank academy, chairman of the solidarity institutions of the Volksbank group and chairman of the supervisory board of Volksbank-Quadrat Bank AG, which enables participation in the Volksbank Group with its profit shares.

Outside the sector, Eidherr acted as deputy chairman of the Inntal University of Applied Sciences and as a board member of Lebenshilfe in the Kufstein district.

Awards

  • In 2005 he was awarded the title of Commercial Councilor by the Federal Chancellor for his services to medium-sized businesses .
  • Great medal of honor in gold on ribbon of the Austrian Cooperative Association (2008)
