Werner Eidner

Werner Eidner (born December 28, 1923 in Chemnitz ) is a former German politician ( SED ). He was chairman of the Potsdam district council .

Life

Eidner, the son of a milling cutter , attended elementary school in Chemnitz and completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker from 1939 to 1942 . Then he worked in the profession. Drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1942, he was taken prisoner of war in Italy in 1945 . After his release he worked again as a toolmaker in Chemnitz between 1946 and 1948. In 1946 he became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED).

In 1948/49 he was secretary of the works party organization at the IFA plant in Chemnitz and from 1949 to 1951 an instructor in the SED state leadership in Saxony . After a course at the SED state party school in Meissen , he was first second secretary in 1952, then first secretary of the SED district leadership in Grossenhain (until 1958). In 1956/57 he completed a distance learning course at the party college "Karl Marx" with a degree in social science. From 1958 to 1960 he was the first secretary of the SED district leadership in Zittau . From 1960 to 1964 he was the second secretary of the SED district leadership in Dresden . In 1963 he became a member of the Central Revision Commission of the SED (until 1989). Between 1964 and 1966, Eidner completed a degree at the Berlin School of Economics with a degree in economics. From 1966 to 1974 he acted as the second secretary of the SED district leadership in Potsdam. From 1967 he was a member of the Potsdam District Assembly . From 1974 to 1977 he was chairman of the Potsdam district council.
