Franz Peplinski (born February 14, 1910 in Samotschin , † November 12, 1991 in Neu Fahrland ) was a German politician ( SED ). From 1950 to 1952 he was Brandenburg Minister of Economics and Labor.

Life

Peplinski, the son of a self-employed carpenter , completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic from 1925 to 1929 after attending primary school and an apprenticeship as a carpenter from 1929 to 1933. In 1928 he joined the KJVD in Berlin and in 1932 became youth leader of the KJVD Berlin-Brandenburg. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists , he was illegally active in politics and was imprisoned several times. From 1934 to 1938 he worked as a carpenter and from 1939 to 1945 as an electrician in the Siemens apparatus and machine factory in Berlin-Marienfelde .

In June 1945 he became a member of the KPD , head of the KPD local group Zepernick and until 1947 mayor of Zepernick. Since 1946 a member of the SED, after attending the state party school in Schmerwitz near Wiesenburg / Mark from 1948 to 1950 he was district administrator of the Osthavelland district and at the same time a member of the SED district executive there. As of November 1949, he was also a member of the secretariat of the SED district committee in Osthavelland. In 1948/49 Peplinski was also a member of the Local Political Advisory Board of the Central Secretariat of the SED. In December 1950, by decision of the secretariat of the SED state management in Brandenburg, he began a distance learning course at the German Administrative Academy "Walter Ulbricht" in Potsdam- Babelsberg and at the University of Economics in Berlin-Karlshorst , which he graduated in 1954 with a degree in economics.

From December 1950 to July 1952 he was the successor to Otto Falkenberg or his acting representative Hans Wulfert von Zerssen Minister for Economics and Labor of the Brandenburg State Government . From July 1952 to September 1956 he was chairman of the council of the Frankfurt an der Oder district . 1955/56 he studied at the party college of the CPSU in Moscow. From October 1956 to February 1958 he was State Secretary for local councils in the Interior Ministry of the GDR .

He was then from 1958 to June 1960 chairman of the Potsdam District Economic Council and from 1958 to 1963 a member of the Potsdam District Assembly . From 1960 to 1962 he was finally Chairman of the Potsdam District Council. From 1963 to 1970 he headed the VEB Tiefbau Brandenburg an der Havel and the VEB Tiefbaukombinat Potsdam. In 1970 he retired. From July 1974 he was deputy chairman of the Potsdam district committee of anti-fascist resistance fighters.

Peplinski has been awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit several times . In 1985 he was awarded the Gold Medal for the Patriotic Order of Merit.
