Werner Filmer

Werner Filmer (born May 16, 1934 in Iserlohn ) is a German journalist , writer and author .

Life

Werner Filmer was a senior editor at Westdeutscher Rundfunk. Most recently on television as deputy editor-in-chief for politics and current affairs alongside Fritz Pleitgen and as head of the culture and science program area. He has produced a large number of television documentaries and reports and has received numerous awards and prizes. As a knowledgeable independent author, he wrote political non-fiction books and published biographies as a co-author, often together with Heribert Schwan , including about Weizsäcker , Kohl , Genscher , Rau and Schäuble . In addition, Filmer wrote narrative texts , poems and radio plays until the 1980s .

Filmer was an active St. George Scout (DPSG) in his youth and processed the impressions of his journeys in song texts and stories.

Filmer now lives in Bergisch Gladbach and spends a large part of the year in Provence. Most recently he wrote the biography of the largely forgotten German sculptor Marg Moll , the grandmother of his wife Iris Filmer.
