Werner Peters (politician)

Werner Peters (born July 5, 1906 in Emmingerhof , Mayen-Koblenz district ; † August 17, 1990 in Ochtendung ) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Peters was born as the son of a farmer on the Emmingerhof near Ochtendung. After graduating from primary school, he attended grammar school, which he left early. He received training at the agricultural school and gained practical experience as a volunteer and administrator. In 1930 he took over his parents' farm, which he subsequently managed as a farmer. From 1953 he was chairman of the Mayen district farmers' association.

Peters joined the CDU in 1953. He was a member of the Mayen district council . In the state elections in 1955 and 1959 , he was elected to the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he belonged until 1963, via the CDU state list . In both legislative terms he was a member of the Agricultural Policy Committee.
