Werner Schmidt-Hieber

Werner Schmidt-Hieber (born November 27, 1944 in Schwäbisch Hall ; † July 12, 2011 in Waiblingen ) was a German lawyer and politician ( FDP ). He was Lord Mayor of Waiblingen from 1994 to 2006 .

Life

Schmidt-Hieber studied law in Tübingen and Freiburg . After graduating as Dr. iur. he initially worked as a judge, later as a public prosecutor and senior public prosecutor at the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office. In the meantime he headed the German Judges Academy from 1981 to 1984 . During his time in the judiciary, he campaigned against "two-tier criminal law ", against patronage of offices and for more rigorous prosecution of household infidelity.

After his resignation due to illness, Andreas Hesky was elected as his successor as Lord Mayor in February 2006 .
