Werner Widuckel

Werner Widuckel (born October 23, 1958 in Salzgitter ) was a member of the Board of Management of Audi AG from 2005 to 2010, responsible for human resources and social affairs . He is currently the professor for personnel management and work organization in technology-oriented companies at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg .

Life

After the Abitur 1977 in Wolfsburg Widuckel worked in production at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg and completed his community service before the 1979 study of social sciences at the University of Goettingen began. In 1984 he graduated as a qualified social economist. He then worked as a research assistant at the sociological seminar at the University of Göttingen. 2003 doctorate he attended the Technical University in Braunschweig Dr. rer. pole.

Widuckel began his professional career in 1985 as a consultant to the general and group works council of Volkswagen AG . In 1991 he became head of the coordination of the European group works council, the world group works council and the general and group works council of Volkswagen AG. As an IG Metaller and advisor to the VW works council, the HR strategist was also once a close advisor to the former VW works council boss Klaus Volkert .

From 2005, Widuckel was head of “Human Resources Policy and Fundamental Issues” within the Human Resources and Social Affairs division at Audi AG in Ingolstadt .

From December 8, 2005, Werner Widuckel was the successor to Horst Neumann on the Board of Management of Audi AG, responsible for the human resources and social affairs division. Widuckel left Audi in July 2010. His successor as Human Resources was Thomas Sigi, who was previously responsible for the Human Resources and Service Companies division on the Board of Management of ZF Friedrichshafen AG .

Starting with the winter semester 2010, Widuckel took on a substitute professorship at Heilbronn University for two semesters . Since May 1, 2012, Widuckel has held a professorship for personnel management and work organization at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Widuckel joined the SPD as early as 1974 and ran as a direct candidate for the Eichstätt district in the Bavarian state elections in 2013 . He lost this election to Tanja Schorer-Dremel from the CSU . In 2017 he ran for the SPD as a direct candidate in the Bundestag constituency of Ingolstadt for the federal election and also lost this election.

criticism

Since May 1, 2012, Widuckel has held an Audi teaching professorship for personnel management and work organization at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, which was financed by his former employer. Since the end of funding by Audi after five years, the position has to be financed from the public budget.
