The Wernesbach is a right tributary of the Göltzsch in the Saxon Vogtland , Germany .
Geographical location
According to the natural map of Saxony , the Wernesbach flows in the mesogeochore "western edge stage of the Ore Mountains near Auerbach" and through the microgeochores "Kuhberg-ridge", "Wernesbach valley" and "Auerbacher Göltzsch valley".
course
The Wernesbach rises in the woods on the northern slope of the Kuhberg south of Rothenkirchen and initially flows in a northerly direction. After reaching the meadows, it turns to the northwest, at a bridge over which the federal highway 169 is led, it changes the direction of flow, flows through Wernesgrün and flows into the Göltzsch in the center of Rodewisch . From Wernesgrün it flows through a valley with a depth of up to 100 meters , in which federal highway 169 has also been laid. This valley widens into a sole valley in Rodewisch . The valley of the Wernesbach narrows in the contact zones of the Eibenstock granite massif. Two nameless backwaters feed the Wernesbach on the right. They open shortly before and in Rodewisch. Left tributaries are the Holzbach, which is south of the Kuhberg at an altitude of 700 m above sea level. NHN rises, and the Roßbach, flowing north from Schnarrtanne , which flows into the Wernesgrüner Hammerhaus. Two other tributaries, including a Taubenbergbach that rises on the northern slope of the Kuhberg and the Taubenbergbach that begins east of Rützengrün, feed the Wernesbach from the south.
Water quality
The stream was heavily polluted by sewage from the municipality of Wernesgrün and the brewery in Wernesgrün. Despite the connection to the wastewater treatment plant in Rodewisch 1986, the Wernesbach only has quality classes II to III.
