Westendhaus

The Westendhaus is a health resort on Bismarckstrasse in Bad Kissingen , in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen . It belongs to the former Bad Kissingen architectural monuments and is registered under the number D-6-72-114-15 in the Bavarian Monument List .
location
The Westendhaus is located at Bismarckstraße 24, on the small side of the Kurviertel, to the right (west) of the Franconian Saale , opposite the Regentenbau . The Westendhaus is not far south of the Ludwigsbrücke , at the foot of the Altenberg .
history
The Westendhaus was probably built around 1840 by the architect Johann Gottfried Gutensohn in the classical style. The builder of the Westendhaus was the spa doctor Heinrich Carl Welsch , who opened his own practice here.
The property is a three-storey hipped roof building with an eastern columned portico . The two lower floors of the villa are of arched windows - arcature , the second floor, however, Attica similar rectangular openings between pilasters marked.
Due to the similarity with the Ballinghaus in Martin-Luther-Straße built by the architect Johann Gottfried Gutensohn, it can be assumed that Gutensohn was also the builder of the Westendhaus in Bismarckstraße . Together with Kaiserhof Victoria , Haus Collard , both Am Kurgarten , Ballinghaus in Martin-Luther-Strasse and Haus Boxberger in Untere Marktstrasse , both properties are part of the town's distinctive Biedermeier buildings.
Todays use
Today the Westendhaus belongs to the Heiligenfeld Clinics .
