Wicimice

Wicimice ( German  Witzmitz ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . The village belongs to the Gmina Płoty (municipality Plathe) in the powiat Gryficki (Greifenberger Kreis) .

Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 75 km northeast of Stettin and about 14 km east of the district town of Gryfice (Greifenberg) .

history

Until 1945 Witzmitz formed a rural community in the Regenwalde district in the Prussian province of Pomerania . In addition to Witzmitz, there were also living spaces in the community : Gramhaus , Neu Witzmitz , Ostenheide and Vorwerk Helenenau .

  • Eduard von der Osten (1804–1887), Prussian major general, most recently adjutant of the General Inspectorate of Military Education
  • August von der Osten (1855–1895), landlord of Witzmitz, district administrator of the Regenwalde district
  • Erich Hoffmann (1868–1959), German dermatologist, invented the luminous image method in microscopy
  • Martin Waßmund (1892–1956), German surgeon, dentist and university professor
