Wyszogóra (German Piepenburg ) is a place in the Gmina Płoty in Powiat Gryficki in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship .

Geographical location

The place is in Western Pomerania , about four kilometers southwest of the town of Plathe ( Płoty ). About two kilometers further south, the Zampel , a tributary of Rega , flows past.

history

Piepenburg was a manor of the von der Osten family . In the feudal letter that the knights Wedige and Ewald von der Osten received from Duke Bogislaw X on Michaelmas Day 1479 , the estate is listed as belonging to Schloss Plathe and named Piepenborch . In the last quarter of the 18th century, the royal chamberlain Friedrich Wilhelm von der Osten is mentioned as the owner of the estate. By 1870 August von der Osten was in possession of the estate.

At the beginning of the 1880s, the place received a train station on what is now the Koszalin – Goleniów railway - at that time running from Altdamm to Greifenberg - the Altdamm-Colberger Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft . From 1893 a branch line to Regenwalde went from Piepenburg .

Until 1945 Piepenburg belonged to the Regenwalde district in the province of Pomerania .

Towards the end of the Second World War , the Red Army occupied the region in the spring of 1945 . Shortly afterwards Piepenburg was placed under Polish administration. The immigration of Polish civilians began. In the months that followed, the resident villagers were evicted . The German village Piepenburg was organized by the Polish People's Republic in Wyszogóra renamed.
