The FFH area Wiesen bei Waldshut is a protected area (protected area identifier DE-8314-342) in the German state of Baden-Württemberg that was registered in 2005 by the Freiburg Regional Council in accordance with Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) . With the ordinance of the regional council of Freiburg on the definition of areas of Community importance of October 25, 2018, the area was determined.

The 741.6 hectare protected area belongs to the natural areas 120- Alb-Wutach-area , 155- Hochschwarzwald und 160- Hochrheintal within the natural spatial main units 12- Gäuplatten in Neckar- and Tauberland , 15- Black Forest and 16- Hochrheing area .

It consists of five sub-areas and lies on the markings of four cities and municipalities:

Description and purpose of protection

The protected area is an extensive meadow area on shell limestone with interspersed forests, valleys and orchards, and poor grassland. An underground millstone pit is the winter quarters for several bat species.

Contiguous protected areas

The FFH area consists of six sub-areas and partially overlaps with the Stubenberg-Estelberg landscape protection area . It is entirely located in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park .
