The FFH area Hochrhein Ostl. Waldshut is a protected area (protected area identifier DE-8416-341) in the German state of Baden-Württemberg that was registered in 2005 by the Freiburg Regional Council according to Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) . With the ordinance of the regional council of Freiburg on the definition of areas of Community importance of October 25, 2018, the area was determined.

The 268.13 hectare protected area belongs to the natural areas 120- Alb-Wutach-area and 160- Hochrheintal within the natural spatial main units 12- Gäuplatten in Neckar- and Tauberland and 16- Hochrheing area .
It covers parts of the High Rhine Valley between Waldshut and the state border with Switzerland and is on the markings of 3 cities and municipalities:
- Hohentengen on the Upper Rhine = 136.7445 ha, 51%
- Küssaberg = 93.8443 ha, 35%
- Waldshut-Tiengen = 40.2189 ha, 15%
Description and purpose of protection
The protected area is a near-natural section of the Upper Rhine with alluvial forest and reed beds. Sloping forests, relict pine forest and dry grass on steep slopes as well as the Hohentengener Ried with species-rich meadows and small-scale, regionally very rare limestone bogs.

Contiguous protected areas
The FFH area overlaps with two landscape protection areas . A section near Waldshut is located in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park . The nature reserves

- No. 3067 - orchid meadow
- No. 3192- Kadelburg Lauffen- Wutach estuary
are completely in the FFH area.
