The Wiga ( Russian Ви́га ) is a right tributary of the Unscha in the Russian Oblast of Kostroma .
The Wiga rises on the Galitscher Heights in Tschuchloma Rajon . It flows initially in a northerly direction and passes the place Sudai . Later it turns to the northeast and finally flows into the upper reaches of the Unscha, a left tributary of the Volga . At river kilometer 35, the Ida , the most important tributary of the Wiga, flows into the river on the left.
The Wiga has a length of 175 km. It drains an area of 3360 km². It is mainly fed by snowmelt as well as precipitation . The river is ice-covered between November and early April.
At least in the past, rafting was carried out on the Wiga .
