Viktor Ivanovich Masin (born April 18, 1954 in Chernovsky Kopi , Chita Oblast ) is a former Soviet weightlifter .
Career
Masin's first and only international competition was the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. He started in the featherweight up to 60 kg and achieved 290.0 kg (130.0 / 160.0 kg), with which he won the gold medal. The runner-up Stefan Dimitrov achieved 287.5 kg. This event also represented the world championship for 1980, with which Masin also became world champion. Despite his relatively short international career, Masin was able to break several world records.
