The Wildbarren is a 1,448 m high mountain in the eastern Mangfall Mountains ( Bavarian Prealps ). Its summit is about two kilometers west of the Inn .

Main dolomite and plate limestone from the Upper Triassic form the main rock type of the mountain. The wild bar and the opposite Kranzhorn formed the alpine gate of the Inntal glacier during the Würme Ice Age .

It can be reached by hiking trails from Kirnstein (municipality of Flintsbach am Inn ) and Niederaudorf (municipality of Oberaudorf ) in the Inn Valley .

The ruins of Kirnstein Castle are on the eastern slope of the wild bar .
