from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wild Child (* around 1974 in Oxnard , California as Jack Brown Turner ) is an American rapper .

Career

In the sixth grade of his school days, he got to know Madlib and DJ Romes and began with breakdancing and rapping. He quickly became known through his live performances and his freestyle and in 1993 he formed the group Lootpack with Madlib and DJ Romes .

His first major guest appearance was in the song "WLIX" on the Tha Alkaholiks LP Coast II Coast . However, it wasn't until 1999 that his group was able to release the debut LP Soundpieces: Da Antidote . This was very successful in the hip-hop scene, but a second album by the group did not follow, although the group never officially broke up.

Rather, Wildchild released his first solo LP Secondary Protocol in 2003 . It was produced by Madlib and Oh No and released on the Stones Throw record label . This album is considered a hip-hop classic and has many guest appearances, including from Planet Asia , Aceyalone , Vinia Mojica , Medaphoar and Tha Liks . It is also noteworthy that Percee P was rediscovered by Wildchild and Wildchild in the song "Knicknack 2002" manages to get rap-technically to a level with this that not even Lord Finesse managed to do before .

Several guest appearances and an EP followed after his album . In 2005 Wildchild played a role in the film "Six Niggaz in a Cadillac" directed by Michael Murphy. Wildchild is married and has one daughter.
