action

After some inmates in Moorgate juvenile detention center have driven one of their own into suicide through psychological terrorism, they are sent to a tent camp on a supposedly uninhabited island as an educational measure. To their surprise, the 6 boys and their supervisor encounter a girls' camp with the same purpose. The men's group set up their tent camp some distance away in the forest. A stranger soon staged a bloody hunt with his crossbow and four sheepdogs , in which one after the other was killed.

background

The budget for the film is estimated at £ 3 million. The film was shot from the end of May to the beginning of July 2005, plus 12 weeks of post-production, in the province of Ulster , including in Cave Hill, above Belfast . The shepherds used come from Scotland. Director Basset actually wanted to work with Rottweilers , but this breed does not have the stamina for this kind of filming. According to his own statement, Basset was also used as a stuntman during the shoot :

"I also wanted a few shots from the victim's point of view but there were difficulties with that too. I eventually decided to just do it myself. I can tell you when those dogs bite you, they do not let go. My padding was covered in holes but I think it was worth it! "

“I also wanted some settings from the victim's perspective, but there were difficulties with that. I finally decided to do it myself. I can tell you one thing: if these dogs bite you, they won't let go. My upholstery was full of holes, but I think it was worth it! "

- Michael J. Basset

The film is also offered in a cut version that has been shortened to 87 minutes and is already approved for young people aged 16 and over. The unabridged version was checked by a team of experts with regard to the protection of minors and its relevance under criminal law. The results were recorded in a SPIO / JK report.
