Wilfrid Polke
Wilfrid Polke (born July 30, 1932 in Oels , Lower Silesia , † July 21, 2014 in Düsseldorf ) was a German sculptor and painter .
Life
After graduating from high school and training as a sculptor, Polke studied at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf from 1954 to 1959 . He was professor of aesthetics and communication in Düsseldorf and at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Rhineland-Westphalia-Lippe in Bochum. His brothers are the painter and photographer Sigmar Polke and the theologian Johannes Polke .
