Wilhelm Baessler

Wilhelm Baessler , also: Bässler , Bäßler or Baeßler (born July 31, 1878 in Freudenstadt , † July 14, 1975 in Forbach ) was a German hotelier and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Baessler initially did military service and took part in the First World War as a soldier from 1914 to 1918 , most recently as a major and battalion commander. In 1919 he left the army. Later he was the owner of the Hotel Waldeck in Freudenstadt. During the time of National Socialism he was a member of the German Labor Front , the National Socialist People's Welfare and the National Socialist War Victims' Support . In August 1948 he was classified as "unencumbered" by the State Commissariat for the political cleansing in Württemberg-Hohenzollern .

After the end of the Second World War , Baessler joined the CDU and served as deputy mayor of the city of Freudenstadt. From 1946 to 1947 he was a member of the advisory state assembly and from 1947 to 1952 a member of the state parliament for Württemberg-Hohenzollern . From 1952 to 1953 he was a member of the state constitutional assembly and then until 1956 a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . In parliament he held the position of senior president.
