Wilhelm Bruchhäuser
Wilhelm Bruchhäuser (born May 27, 1895 in Dausenau , † September 14, 1976 in Oberbieber ) was a German politician and poet .
Life
Bruchhäuser was the station master in Nassau . Since 1918 he was a member of the SPD . In 1923 he was employed by the tax office in the unoccupied Weilburg , later head of the Niederlahnstein employment office . Because of his negative attitude towards the National Socialists, he was transferred to Dillenburg in 1933 . There he founded the “Freie Turnerschaft” and the “Nassauische Bau- und Siedlungsgesellschaft”. Because of his membership in the SPD he was dismissed in 1934 and from 1934 to 1947 he managed to get his family through as a taxi driver, tax advisor and freelance journalist. Since he was politically unencumbered, he became the first district of the district Neuwiedappointed after the war, a post he held from 1947 until his retirement in 1960. He was heavily involved in the reconstruction, the reopening of the district museum in 1948 (today Roentgen Museum) in Neuwied . He was also DRK district chairman.
He was the author of the Kreischronik “Ten Years of the Neuwied District” and several volumes of poetry, a member of the German Writers' Association and an employee of the Neuwied home calendar.
