Wilhelm Brunkhorst

Wilhelm Brunkhorst (born April 17, 1936 in Sittensen ; † July 30, 2007 there ) was a German master tailor and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Wilhelm Brunkhorst was a master tailor. In 1962 he joined the CDU and was a member of the Junge Union until 1972 . At the latter, he was district chairman for four years and then district chairman in the Stade administrative district . In 1964 he became a council member and from 1972 to 1990 mayor of Sittensen. Brunkhorst was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1970 to 1994 . From 1976 to 1977 Brunkhorst was also district administrator of the district Bremervörde , 1977-1991 Deputy District Administrator and from 1991 to 2000 Chief Executive of the enlarged district Rotenburg (Wümme) . In this role he campaigned for the Lower Saxony district to sponsor the former Angerburg district in East Prussia . For health reasons, he resigned from office on August 1, 2000.

From the end of the 1980s to the mid-1990s, Brunkhorst was chairman of the supervisory board of Werbefernsehen und Werbefunkgesellschaft GmbH ( NWF ) , a subsidiary of Norddeutscher Rundfunk .

Brunkhorst succumbed to a long and serious illness at the age of 71.
