Life

Wilhelm Busch was a trained carpenter . He actually wanted to become a musician, but had no opportunity to get an education. So he taught himself to play the violin.

In 1889 he married Henriette Schmidt from Buschhütten and had five children with her: Fritz , Adolf , Willi , Hermann and Heinrich . He practiced and made music a lot at home with his sons. He also performed with them in restaurants and at parties. Four of the sons later became musicians.

From 1899 to 1902 he had a musical instrument shop in Siegen at the Marburger Tor . He built cellos and violins and also repaired all kinds of musical instruments.

In 1902 he moved to Siegburg and in March 1907 to Cologne , since his children were studying at the local music academy . There he operated a trade for string instruments at Heumarkt 18 . He also worked as a restorer at Wilhelm Heyer's Museum of Music History in Cologne.

From 1914 he lived in Duisburg , and in 1920 he moved to Bochum , where he died nine years later.
