Wilhelm Fronemann

Wilhelm Fronemann (born April 6, 1880 in Hörste near Halle (Westphalia) ; † May 31, 1954 ) was a German educator , elementary school teacher and writer .

Life

Fronemann was initially a farmer and from 1902 to 1943 an elementary school teacher, first in the Ruhr area , then from 1911 in Frankfurt am Main .

For a time he was a preparation teacher in Petershagen .

Wilhelm Fronemann was a leader in the German youth writing movement, most recently as head of the youth book department at the Institute for International Education in Mainz . He also acted as a translator from English and French.

After 1945 he lived and worked in the Soviet occupation zone , where he published groschenhefte for the Marhold publishing house. But then he moved to West Germany. From 1947 he headed the specialist unit for young writers in the West German Association of Authors , of which he was an honorary member. He died in Köppern / Taunus in 1954 .

His estate is in the Institute for Youth Book Research at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .
