Wilhelm Genth

Wilhelm Genth (born March 6, 1803 in Kirburg (Duchy of Nassau), † July 16, 1844 in Soden ) was a German lawyer and occasional writer .

Life

After studying in Bonn and Heidelberg, Genth worked as an official accessist in Montabaur from 1824 and in 1834 as an official secretary and inquirer at the criminal court in Wiesbaden . In 1841 he became a criminal judge in Wiesbaden. Genth died of a stroke in 1844 during a criminal investigation in Soden .

In addition to his work as a detective and judge, Genth sporadically published poems and stories that were published in magazines and almanacs . Posthumously a complete edition of the seals was realized by friends .

In the history of literature today, Genth is only known through the poem by his friend August von Platen to Wilhelm Genth from 1834.
