Wilhelm Gottfried Walther

Wilhelm Gottfried Walther (born May 7, 1869 in Landsberg / Warthe , † December 4, 1932 in Brandenburg / Havel ) was a German ophthalmologist and senior general in the German Army .

Life

Origin and family

Wilhelm was a son of the preacher to St. Mary in Landsberg / Warthe Friedrich Wilhelm Walther (1810–1876) and Berta Wilhelmine Auguste Laber (1823–1902).

He married Frieda Agnes Osterroht (1878–1954) in Hartensdorf in 1902 . The marriage resulted in two sons and two daughters.

Career

Walther belonged to the Kaiser Wilhelm Academy from March 30, 1882 to March 15, 1886 . He received his doctorate on February 13, 1886 and promoted to assistant doctor on November 8, 1887 . Walther worked from September 21, 1893 to April 24, 1896 again as sub-director at the Kaiser Wilhelm Academy. In 1910 he was senior physician general and division physician in the 17th division in Schwerin .

He published several articles on ophthalmology .
