Wilhelm Gräbhein (painter)
Wilhelm Gräbhein , (also Graebhein, born November 24, 1859 in Bienstädt near Gotha , † November 24, 1930 in Munich ) was a German painter and graphic artist.
Wilhelm Gräbhein, a nephew of the lithographer Wilhelm Gräbhein (1820–1895), learned the lithographic trade in Gotha. From 1880 to 1885 he studied painting at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich under Ludwig von Löfftz and Alexander von Liezen-Mayer . He then lived as a freelance artist in Munich
Gräbhein was a member of the Reich Association of German Visual Artists and the Munich Artists' Cooperative . From 1890 he took part in the exhibitions in the Munich Glass Palace , illustrated books and provided pictures for the journal Die Gartenlaube .
He mainly painted hunting scenes and landscapes.
