Wilhelm Heinrich Gwinner , from 1853 by Gwinner , (born October 13, 1801 in Ötisheim , † January 19, 1866 in Bistritz , Bohemia ) was a German forest scientist and politician.

life and work

Wilhelm Heinrich Gwinner attended the village school in Ötisheim, and he also took private lessons from the local priest. In 1815 he became an incipient at a notary in Maulbronn and in 1818 he obtained the academic preliminary examination for the course without attending a Latin school beforehand. In 1819 and 1820 he studied camera and forest sciences in Tübingen with Johann Christian Hundeshagen , where he became a member of the Germania fraternity in 1819 . From 1821 to 1826 he worked as an assistant at the Bebenhausen Forestry Office , and from 1826 to 1841 he was a lecturer and professor of forest science at the Hohenheim Academy . In 1841 he joined the Württemberg state forest administration as a district forest councilor in Ellwangen, and in 1850 he was appointed to the central forest authority at the regional finance chamber in Stuttgart .

Von Gwinner was a member of the Chamber of Deputies from 1844 to 1848 . In 1858 he entered the service of Prince Karl Anton von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen , whose Bohemian lordships he administered.

He died unexpectedly on January 19, 1866 of intestinal bleeding.

Honors, ennobling

Wilhelm Heinrich von Gwinner received the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown in 1853 , which was associated with the personal title of nobility. In 1863 he was honored with the Cross of Honor of the Hohenzollern House Order .
